Psychotherapy/Psicoterapia
In a world that often feels overwhelming and uncertain, it can be difficult to find steady ground. Therapy offers a unique opportunity to slow down, reflect, and connect with your inner strengths. I believe in the transformative power of a therapeutic relationship—one that allows you to explore difficult emotions, address sources of distress, and ultimately, build a more grounded and fulfilling life.
I offer psychotherapy to adults navigating life transitions, cultural identity questions, and emotional struggles such as anxiety, depression, and stress. My approach is bilingual (Spanish-speaking), bicultural, and grounded in empathy, collaboration, and respect for your lived experience.
Every individual brings their own story, strengths, and goals into therapy. I work relationally and collaboratively, meaning we decide together what you want from therapy and how we’ll get there. My work is trauma-informed and strengths-based, I help you identify the tools and resources you already have, and support you in developing new ones.
Cultural identity is often a meaningful part of the therapeutic process. As a bicultural therapist, I understand the challenges and richness that come with navigating multiple worlds. Whether you're experiencing the complexities of immigration, adjusting to life in a new culture, or facing pressures around family and identity, I offer culturally sensitive care that honors where you come from and where you’re going.
I also support clients who are rebuilding after experiences of domestic violence, as I am a Certified Domestic Violence Professional in the state of Illinois. In addition, I serve individuals preparing for marriage or seeking support in their relationships as a certified SYMBIS facilitator.
Some of the most common concerns I help clients navigate include:
Anxiety and depression that feel difficult to manage on your own
Life transitions, including career changes, moves, and relationship shifts
Cultural identity concerns, including those related to being Latinx, bilingual, or bicultural
Immigration and acculturation stress
Domestic violence recovery and emotional healing
Financial stress and wellness
Relationship challenges, including pre-marital counseling
I primarily work with adults (ages 18 and older) who are ready to engage in therapy to better understand themselves and make meaningful changes in their lives. Whether you’re new to therapy or returning to it, my goal is to provide a space that is safe, affirming, and empowering.
I currently accept several major insurance plans, including:
Aetna PPO
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois PPO or Choice plans
Cigna PPO
Employee Resource Systems (ERS).
If you are using out-of-network benefits or prefer to pay privately, I offer a sliding fee scale to make therapy more accessible. We can discuss the best option for your needs during our consultation.
All sessions are conducted virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. This allows you to attend therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space, without the need to travel. I offer flexible scheduling, including daytime and evening hours.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and an Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (ICDVP). I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a Counseling Specialization from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and I have been providing psychotherapy since 2006.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of supporting a diverse range of clients through personal growth, healing, and life transitions. I bring not only professional training to my work but a deep commitment to culturally responsive and compassionate care.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to take it alone.
If you're interested in scheduling an appointment or learning more about how therapy might support you, I invite you to reach out. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to answer your questions and see if we're a good fit.
